About us / Paul & Victoria Range-Dye
The Pouch of Douglas was set up in 2002 by Paul & Victoria Range-Dye (that's us!) originally as a greetings card company. We'd always liked the idea of little bits of art making their way into people's homes as a small token and the pleasure one gets on receipt of it.
In a strange way the picture framing became a natural progression from that. Images evoke such strong feelings that to find some way of helping people hold on to that became our goal. When we found a local picture framing business up for sale a few years ago, with my experience in framing and exhibition work and Victoria's eye for design, it seemed like the natural thing to do.
We decided to set up The Pouch of Douglas because we saw an opportunity to collaborate with artists we admired. Victoria and I feel passionately about what we do and felt the need to bring together people who share the same feelings about their work. We're also keen to make art as accessible as possible so, think it's important to find work of the highest quality but, at affordable prices. We're not snobs. We just love art and want you to love it too.
